Serving the Wine
Hosting a wine tasting party can be a sophisticated way of hosting a social gathering. However, as a host, it is imperative of course that you know the basics wine serving etiquette.
Wines should be served at the right temperature so that the tasters can enjoy its full or best taste. However, this can be a little bit of a challenging task especially if you do not know much about wines yourself as the right serving temperature for wines varies from wine to wine. More often than not, red wines are preferred by tasters at around 65° F and white and rose wines are more preferred at close to 55 ° F, while sparkling wines are usually enjoyed around the chill of 45° F. It is also important that before hosting the wine tasting, you find some time to learn how to properly remove the cork. Do not bend the cork. To remove any debris from the cork and to check the wine out, it is wise to pour the cork out with about an ounce or so of wine.
You must also bear in mind that it is recommended to allow red wines to breathe for an hour or so before you serve them. Avoid letting the wine to breathe for too long as it will cause the wine to taste flat and dull.
