Living and Loving
The right time to love is when the heart says so. It doesn’t matter if you are a busy buddy or whether there are a lot of things going on in your life that needs more of your attention than falling in love. When the opportune moment comes for you to feel that you are starting to care deeply about a certain person, the harder you avoid it, the deeper you fall.
It is said that there are five main stages of relationships. The initial stage is romance. This is the fun and exciting stage of a relationship. This includes the courtship and dating stage, the getting-to-know-each-other-part. This stage satisfies the need of belonging. The second stage is the power struggle. In this stage, the couple is now aware of their differences and both are seeking a little sense of freedom from each other. This is a critical stage as some couples decide to part ways in the end because of the differences they can’t resolve. The third stage is the stability stage. Here, the couple understands their differences and respects each other’s personal world. Next is the commitment stage. This is the stage where the couple is really ready for marriage, as compared to couples getting married while they are still on the first stage. The last stage is the co-creation stage. This is the stage were the couple truly becomes a team. Not only do they share experiences together, they venture and face the world as one.
In which ever stage you are in right now, it is best to take your time and not be impulsive. Impulsiveness often leads to divorce and traumatic relationships.
